I know some pretty hard core people who jump on the backs of boars and hunt them with a knife. I have heard of people who jump in the water with gators and a knife and pull them on the boat with them in the end. My friends take a bow and arrow and with the accuracy of Robin Hood striking down deer from distances rivaled by rifles. Hunting is a craft, a way of life, and for some people a means of survival. Most of these animals are prey, what is it like to hunt a predator?

There is many ways to kill a game animal. Different rifles, different types of archery, different techniques flood the forums as the most effective way to hunt; but there is only one way to hunt wolves.

When wolf hunting you can’t sit back and post up in a spot waiting for them to show. Once in a while you might get lucky, but you will never rid the woods of this predator. Wolves are cunning, by the time you see them they have already been watching you. They know their territory and can smell you miles away. No, you have to go to the den. When hunting wolvesImageyou must first find where they spend their time, where they sleep, eat, and play. You can’t take long range weapons, you have to carry your sword and get close enough to touch them. In fact you have to learn to love them.

The problem is, you can’t sneak up on them, they are too good for that. You have to be welcomed into their den, allowed to walk around among them. There can be no fear, after all they can smell it on you when you are with them so they will never let you among them if you have fear. In fact it brings the chances of getting devoured up to a much higher level. Oh yes, by the way that is a risk that you take every time you go wolf hunting. The thing is, when you go wolf hunting is seems that the ones most likely to kill you are the other hunters with their long rifles, most of them don’t like when wolf hunters go into the pack and hunt from within.

There is a difference between wolf hunting and wolf taming. The goal is not to take a wolf and make them pets, never, it is to kill the wolf and make them sheep. Our mission as wolf hunters is to not only make them sheep, but also make them wolf hunters. We show them the way, we teach them all that we have been taught, showing them that their life as a wolf is over and that they have left all wolfedome behind and have taken on the mission of the Shepard.

Wolf hunting is not for the faint of heart. The wolf hunter is uncivilized, and in most cases unwelcome in the civilized world. Wolf hunters live for the hunt and risk life and limb to do it. Most people don’t understand the wolf hunters. Some wish they too could be a part of the hunt and are welcome to do so, but only when they are ready to leave it all behind and die on the hunt. There is no such thing as a part time wolf hunter, but there is no thrill like the thrill of the wolf hunt.

16 “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. 17 Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, 18 and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. 19 When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. 20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.21 Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, 22 and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
